Kia ora bloggers,

It is awesome to see so many posts going up at this early stage of the Summer Learning Journey! A special shout out to all those students who have started the journey from home today.

We love it when you get creative with your work, but sometimes we are hit with this message:

This means that you haven't changed the share settings to anyone with the link can view!

Please watch this quick video, (37 seconds) showing you what to do so that we can see your amazing work!

Summer Learning Finally Here!!!

Kia ora team!

It is very exciting to see the Summer Learning Journey Released today! You can find all of the activities here!  You can do them in any order you like and the aim is to post at least three times a week! Remember that you need to include Summer Learning Journey in the title (SLJ for short) and also include which activity you are doing.

I can see that some students have already started posting their first activity by looking at our cluster twitter feed! (Link here). You don't need to sign up for twitter you just use it to click the links and that will take you to the person's blog. You also get points for commenting on other's blogs, so this is a handy tip to help you find those bloggers!

If you have any questions or want to know more feel free to comment on this blog.

Looking forward to reading all of your posts!

- Miss Morgan & Cooper

P.S. Cooper thinks something special about where we live is that we can go to the river, the beach, the hills, and the mountains! We are so close to so many different things to explore. If he was to write an activity for #2 that is what he would be describing!!!

2. The largest city in New Zealand is Auckland.

3. When you drive in New Zealand, you drive on the left hand side.

Here is the link to where we got our information from.

Kia Ora!

Hornby Primary School's on Board!

This year's Summer Learning Journey is getting into full swing with Uru Mānuka's first school presentation this morning. The tamariki were receptive and super excited about getting to learn more about this years theme 'The World Around Us" with many of them registering already before we start on the 17th of December! This programme is a fabulous way for students to stay engaged and excited about learning throughout their time away from school during the holidays.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Uru Mānuka Summer Learning Blog!

This is a place where you can get weekly updates of activities, blogs to comment on and you can also leave comments to ask for help.

The journey will take approximately four weeks. Each day you can choose from three different  activities:  two main tasks and a special bonus activity. You can choose to complete one, two or all three activities, and then write a blog post about them. Each activity is worth points, and at the end of the summer the most active bloggers from each school will be rewarded with great prizes!

We are looking forward to spending the summer working with you to improve your learning!

Let's get to it!
